Let's Move Toward Peace This Holiday Season
We are living through a period of tremendous conflict, ranging from interpersonal disputes between family members to large-scale disagreements about our national election and international acts of violence.
Although many disputes might seem overwhelming and impossible to address, New York Peace Institute provides alternatives to violence and division. We help to:
1) create stronger, more resilient communities capable of addressing and managing conflict;
2) respond to incidents of harm with healing processes; and,
3) address seemingly intractable issues through conversation and other conflict resolution tools.
December 3rd is Giving Tuesday.
This special day provides an opportunity to come together as a community to support local nonprofits like New York Peace Institute. During this challenging time and upcoming holiday season, we hope that you will help us continue our critical work and move towards peace in our communities.
Donations to New York Peace Institute support: our free mediation and facilitation services for Brooklyn and Manhattan residents; reduced-fee or free trainings for individuals, nonprofits and community groups across New York; scholarships for our Basic Mediation Training, restorative practice and peer mediation trainings; and so much more.
Here are some ways your donation can make a difference:
- $50 covers a stipend for one session of online peer mediation training for youth;
- $150 covers an entire program stipend for conflict resolution training for youth;
- $200 covers an entire program stipend for peer mediation training for youth;
- $500 covers a scholarship for a college student in our training for navigating difficult dialogues on campus;
- $995 covers a scholarship for our Apprenticeship program for community volunteers;
- $1,695 covers a Basic Mediation Training scholarship for an eligible participant;
- $3,000 covers a free conflict resolution training for a nonprofit or community group.
After a tumultuous year, it's time to move toward peace.
Support New York Peace Institute this Giving Tuesday. Help us continue our work addressing differences through dialogue, fostering understanding, and building community.
We are so grateful for your support!
